Overview
​

Duration: 20 hours of pre course study prior to an immersive 5 day classroom based course followed by 121 hours of ‘off course’ study including the completion of 3 workbooks that are subject to formal evaluation.
​
Content: Aligned with the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level E, this qualification empowers learners with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to handle a broad spectrum of Prehospital care emergencies. Topics include major incidents, fracture immobilisation, sick and injured children, mental health issues, and more.

Entry requirements

Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training.
​
Learners must hold a valid (in date) Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) or a valid (in date) Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) qualification or a Qualsafe recognised equivalent and provide continuing professional development (CPD) profile containing evidence of 118hrs study and/or contextualised practice before they can begin the Qualsafe Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) qualification.

There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent.
